About the position: This is a RFT (full-time) position located at the 733d Force Support Squadron on Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Position is guaranteed 35 hours per week. This position may be subject to holidays, nights, weekends and on-call work.

Duties

Provides support to management in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Force Support Squadron. Ensures that functions assigned comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that
integrate organizational objectives. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force (AF), and local guidelines, policies, and instructions. Reviews organization mission, functions, and manning. 1dentifies requirements and
initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives. Implements the organization self-inspection program; reviews formal inspection reports, audits, complaints, and other reports to ensure adverse findings are addressed/corrected within the allotted time frame. Provides staff with direction and advice regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines. Reviews and structures organization to optimize use of resources and maximize
efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior
leadership, representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and other related civilian
organizations regarding services provided, Represents the Force Support Squadron at Facility Board meetings, and financial working group meetings ensuring required resources and facilities for the squadron. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to
assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Enhances unit identity and cohesion by participating in squadron
events, such as physical training, booster dub, dinners, hails and farewells, and other base wide events. Establishes, defines, and
implements requirements for operations programs to ensure services and functions are in line with organizational goals and mission
requirements. Develops, monitors, and analyzes applicable statistical data to track operating programs, evaluate their effectiveness and applicability to strategic goals, and plan improvements. Responsible for preparation, management, execution, and fiscal oversight of the FSS budget. Reviews and analyzes financial statements and budgets for activities to include the MWR Fund and the Lodging Fund to ensure activities are meeting financial performance standards. Ensures program and activities managers maintain a credible internal controls program, protect assets, evaluate financial operations and make adjustments necessary to stay within fiscal constraints. Develops capital
improvement, short-and long-range plans; secures and maintains equipment, facilities, and supplies. Keeps senior management
informed of progress of programs and advises of any significant developments that may impact plans. Exercises supervisory control over the Flight Chiefs in the absence of the Commander and Deputy Director. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: At least one year of specialized experience at a level equivalent in pay band or other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the grade indicated. Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field is highly desirable, Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: executing work which involved a wide range of manpower, personnel, education, family and readiness, instructional systems, and/or services operations, directives, programs and procedures; serving as an operations manager providing support to leadership regarding the resources and activities of an organization; ensuring legal and regulatory compliance issues and/or customer concerns are promptly identified and addressed; directing, coordinating, and overseeing work through subordinate
supervisors; developing, monitoring, and analyzing applicable statistical data to track operating programs; and managing/preparing fiscal oversight ofa budget. Position requires satisfactory completion of required security/background checks.



Education
